transformation project
For this project I decided to transform myself into Lucy from the the show "I love Lucy." I wanted to do her because I love this era and I love this show. The most challenging about this project would be getting you face right to match the photo you are going to put yourself into and being able to be in character. It's hard because you aren't the person you are trying to be so when you don't get it it gets kind of irritating. I would have to say that the most simple part about this project was getting the pictures on the computer and finally getting to start the project, or even just picking what or who you wanted to be. If I was able to add one more photo to this I would want to add one that really really looked like a photo of her in the internet. I would want to spent the most time on that one and make it look really good.

Transformation brainstorm
For this project I want to become Lucy from the show "I love Lucy." I think this would be really cool to do because I love that era and how the little house wife was innocent. It will be kind of hard to get in a kitchen of somewhere like the show has but I will try my best to get somewhere where the photos will look good. Props... I will need stuff that is old and looks like something Lucy would use in the show, a husband, but I can always crop in the guy that plays her husband on the show and the kids. I will probably end up watching a bunch of episodes of "I love Lucy" and looking at a bunch of pictures of her on google. I really want to be able to make this project my best and I will do what it takes to make this the best I can make.

American Photography (part 3)
From this segment from the video the one that popped out to me was the little part they talked about Andy Warhol and how he took one photo, made it look like a painting, and then made a bunch of them like he did to Marilyn Monroe.
Photographs are a big part of our world and has changed it a lot. I think it is a good and a bad thing. Bad because it shows a fake image as to what something is if it is altered and put in a magazine. People do so much to changed photos in a magazine to make them look better or worse and in some ways it can be a good thing but most of the time it's not because little girls and even little boys sometimes will look at that and wonder why the don't look like that or wonder if thats how pretty or strong they will be in the future. Like I said I also think it can be a good thing too because to make a program that is able to do stuff like that is really cool! Being able to make a girl look flawless is what ever woman wants but we all have to keep in mind that it is only a picture. Here in the present if this video would have kept going and they made a 4th or 5th section to this movie it would probably cover big things like Obama and the twin towers. Technology is so advanced now I have no idea what they would have on that. Im guessing they would put stuff in there like the commercials we have on TV and how they make all the new phones and ipod/ pads are so cool and what they do to make them work. I love photography and how people are able to make a picture better or worse is so amazing.

Digital Collage
The imagery that appears in my collage are friendship, love, strength, and fun. The changes I made in my layers would be blending, making some pictures pop more than others do and having everythihng related in some way. Plus I really wanted to express me. Show people what I like and what I see. As I was working on my collage I made changes such as how I felt about what was going to go in it and where everything was going to be placed. The new ideas I put in my collage would be the Marilyn Monroe, the quote "the lead singer couldn't take his eye's off me", the baby, and so much more. I would have to say that the most successful thing in my colaage would either be the hands that are in the background and how the heart just blanded in or in the bottom right coner with the quote and how I have the girl with the tattoo in the back. I feel like I could have blended everything a little better and I with I had overlapped some stuff a little more. I guess the one thing that I really wanted to show in this is what and who I am. Everything in this picture represents me in some way. I really like that.

Quarter 2... and your ideal world.
My ideal world would be... where I am. I like where I live and what it looks like. Anywhere that is like the US is great. I like to travel, even though I haven't been to many places I have still been to the east and west coast. I loved NY and Cali. The colors that I would see would be blue, green, brow, white. Everything you see now is what you would see in my ideal world. Because where we live now is what I like. The objects that would be in this world is everything you see now. Cars, people, bikes, but I would like it more if everything wasn't so polluted. The people would just be the same. A little more nice would be more like it. But I live in realistic world so I know that everyone can't be how you would like them to be. Something unique about my world is everything. Not just one thing is unique, it's everything and everyone in it. Every person is unique in their own way. Even if they act just like another person they are still their own person.

Documentary
Beginning of our day
Smiley Bell :)
Pinking up wood chips and being naughty
Heading to the next one
Looking at a rooster
Big cows, very interested
What I decided to photograph for my project was the weekend my brother and I spent with my aunt up in Rush City Minnesota. It was the next day when my little cousins came up and we wend to a place called Pineheaven farm. I chose to document this because it's something we do every year and this year I wanted to tie it into a project and school to show a tradition my family has every year around Halloween. When I was taking these photos I wanted to show how my family has fun and what we like to do and how we are people that like to be out on a farm and be around animals. What I learned documenting this was the fun we have and what the little ones are interested in when we go pet animals. My favorite photo I took is probably the one called heading to the next one or looking at a rooster because in the one with my cousin walking to the next goat it just shows the fun she's having and the how smiley she is when she's with us. And I like the one with the rooster because it shows all three of my little cousins all close together looking at something they think is interesting.

Proposal
I am going to photograph and document a time with my aunt this coming Halloween weekend because I have been up to her house ever since I was a young for stuff to do with Halloween and I have never took pictures to share with anyone. My aunt takes the pictures and has them but not me and I would like to have some, so I thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to do so. Where I will be taking these photos will be anywhere my aunt take my brother and I for Halloween stuff. A hunted house, pumpkin patch, apple orchard, I'm not sure. I'm sure it will be in those places some time this weekend. I'm going to try and take picture mostly of my family and I having fun doing what we do every year. That will be lying on the couch watching scary movies and eating yummy pie, even having fun carving our pumpkins. Hopefully my photos will turn out and look good for when I turn them in! Around the time of Halloween is my favorite time of year lets make this year one we will never forget!

American Photography (part 2)
The two events that stuck out to me were the Holocaust and the fifties. I like how they showed pictures from the Holocaust because it showed you how cruel they were to these poor people and how they made them work with out any food or anything and it showed how skinny they were. Pictures of hundreds of dead bodies fill the camara and show the sadness in their faces. They used photography to document what is was like being in a concentration camp and to prove that yes this all did really happen and it wasn't something people just made up. The reason I liked the fifties is because I have always loved the way it was back then and how everything was looked. this is when women started to be more independent but still look after their families. Women started being more risque in how they dressed. They way people just took the pictures and how they looked made you feel like you were in that era of time. I think that someone who would be interested in documenting these kinds of things would be people that are really interested in this time or like I said before, is to prove it really happened. Something even as easy as you were just a person at that place, in that time and decided to start taking photos. Just letting your camara take a photo of anything it wants to it what I think the best photography is.
Portraits
I decided to do this project on my dad because I knew that I would get some pretty good shots of him and where he works. He is an electrician of the city of minneapolis. Hes been doing this job for as long as i have been alive, almost 16 year. I would have to say that my favorite photo I took of my dad would have to be either the one where he is holding the sign or where he is getting out of his truck. I like the way I edited the photos and how the turned out.
My dad in his locker room at work.
My dad in his work truck, took the picture through the mirror
My dad moving a sign.
Dad getting out of his work tuck.
My dad lifting up one of the old stop lights
My "beauty" shot of my dad.

Project: Color, Line, and Texture
For my two color photo's I took a picture of part of my mom's garden in our back yard and a Victoria's Secret bad that I had laying around in my room. In the photo of flower I made the red pop out more and brightened the picture. Over all in my photo of the bad I really brightened it and made all the colors pop plus I really tried to get rid of the flash. For my texture photo's I took a picture of rocks in my yard and a axe on my stairs from when we were taking out my front stairs. The changes I made to the texture photo's I made the red in the axe less dull then what it was and for the rocks I made the yellow and color brighter. And last I took a picture of a bunch of movie's I have in my house and the American flag for my line photo's. For the last line photo's I cropped my flag photo so you could see it better in the picture and made the red pop more, then with movie's I got rid of most of the flash and darkened it so you could see them better.
I feel that the photo I took of the axe on the stairs was my best because it was not planned and it was positioned on my stairs in a cool way that would look good in a photo. What I learned about myself in doing this project was that I need to practice. What I did was fun and it was just my first project but I know that as the year goes on I will get better in knowing how and what o take a picture of and how to make it look good with hardly having to do anything with editing it. If I could redo this project I would take more time in knowing what I want to take a picture of and knowing how to make it look good. I would have really liked to go to better places then what I did, but I have much more time to take pictures that I like a lot and really appreciate.
Color
Changes: I brightned it and made the red stand out more

Line, Texture, And Color
http://www.flickr.com/photos/natcarson/4946682481/
This photo was taken at a low angle and I am using this for my color photo because the paint spattered on the girl pops and the grass is highlighted in certain stops from the sun.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/monstershaq2000/2162386152/
I say that this is for my line photo because the shot glasses are all put in a straight lone and you can see the one in front really clear and then when you look at the ones in the back they get more and more blurry.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/akashb/2426330375/
This is for texture because you can tell the hand on the person doing the pottery is slimmy and wet and then in other places probably a little dry and bumpy.

Learning Shots and Angles
Extreme Close Up Shot
This photo shows extrerme close up shot because it's only part of the baby's face and you can really see all the colors in his/ her eyes and how he/ she is starting to cry.

Long Shot
I picked this for long shot because it's as though someone was standing on anpther bridge or road and took the picture from far away.
Eye level Agnle
This is eye level because it looks like someone just bent down so they would just get the little girl eating her apple and so that she would smile in the camera. Plus you can't see the top of her head or the bottom of her chin.
Low Angle
This is low angle photography because it makes it look like you are looking up at it, as if the traintracks were going up and down instead of right to left. It makes it looks really far away and evenually makes it look like it disapears.
Symmetry
Rule of Thirds
I thought this was a really good picture to show rule of third one because it shows you the picture and then changes and it gets cut into the three parts like you would do with your eyes on your own. The top line is right at the top of the tree and the second line is at the horizon. Then when you go side to side the first line on the right is in the very middle of the tree.

American Photography (part 1)
The movie we watch called American Photography was about photography when it first started and it showed how the camera was invented, how time moved forward from people just drawing pictures of what they thought they saw. One the first camera's that was invented was called a "Brownie" and that was a camera that everyone could buy it was only $1.00 instead of the more expensive camera that was the Kodak. Photo's mean more to people then almost anything. Pictures capture memory's of childhood and family, friends, love, romance, and more of the sad stuff like war and death. They say that a photo can save a life. If you went to the doctor and they didn't have an xray to see if you broke something, or if you had a tumor what would you be able to do? Nothing. A part in the movie talked about how people would make and send post cards to show friends and family what they have been up to or how is new in the family like a baby. Just like we do now but now we will send stuff like emials or post a picture on facebook.
One thing that suprised me that they talked about in the video was photographers for a while weren't aloud to take pictures of war and show the real life of it and how it's not a glory thing to be in. Things that infueced America were that when poeple took pictures it showed how people lived, poor, rich, or just living life and when people were able to take pictures of war it really showed Americans that wow it's not the great and what I imaginged was so wrong. A quetion I have about photography would have to be what makes a person say to themselves hey I'm going to take a picture of that? I know that with me it's because I think it looks cool or its just something with my friends I want to be able to look back on and remember. It would be interesting to know what other people would say, as in really photographers and one's that take pictures of nature and animals. What makes them want to record that in a photo?

What is Art?
What is Art? Art is something that people show to let people know what they are about. As in singers, they sing and write songs to express how they feel or what has happened to them in song. Sad songs depending on what the song is talking about may be about breaking up with your boyfriend or girlfriend, losing something like someone dying. Or happy songs like talk about getting a girlfriend or boyfriend, falling in love, or just being a happy person. Art to me is something that can be expressed in many ways, any way you can think of. Singing, drawing, writing, dancing, etc. They way I like to show art is in singing, listening to music, reading quotes, typing, or dancing with friends.
You can see art everywhere. You walk outside your house and see art right away because they house right next to you is art. The trees, what you put on in the morning. As in your make up and clothes. I have put a lot of examples but more would be such as TV, billboards, posters, whatever you think of or look at can be considered art. What I know about art is that many people take if very serious or they can just play around with it and create something they think of right away. Just like the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure." I want to know a lot more about art then I already do. Whatever you can teat me about art would amazing. I think that people that can draw and be so good at it is great, I wish i could draw really well but I can't so I stick to typing and singing. Art is everything and anything. Whatever way you can express yourself is art and thats what I love about it, you can never have someone tell you what you think is art isn't. There's no wrong answer to what you think art is.
