American Photography (part 2)
The two events that stuck out to me were the Holocaust and the fifties. I like how they showed pictures from the Holocaust because it showed you how cruel they were to these poor people and how they made them work with out any food or anything and it showed how skinny they were. Pictures of hundreds of dead bodies fill the camara and show the sadness in their faces. They used photography to document what is was like being in a concentration camp and to prove that yes this all did really happen and it wasn't something people just made up. The reason I liked the fifties is because I have always loved the way it was back then and how everything was looked. this is when women started to be more independent but still look after their families. Women started being more risque in how they dressed. They way people just took the pictures and how they looked made you feel like you were in that era of time. I think that someone who would be interested in documenting these kinds of things would be people that are really interested in this time or like I said before, is to prove it really happened. Something even as easy as you were just a person at that place, in that time and decided to start taking photos. Just letting your camara take a photo of anything it wants to it what I think the best photography is.
